description My husband is a soldier serving in Sierra Leone, West Africa and I along with our 10 year old dalmatian Mr Jake and 5 year old labrador Solomon accompanied him here back in 2008. Initially we tried to feed the dogs the food we could buy locally, but it was disgusting and the dogs lacked energy and their usual yest for life. I then realised that we could have your food delivered to a BFPO address which was great as it was what they were fed at home in the UK. We have been doing so ever since (the postie always rings me happily to inform when the dogs food has arrived as he finds it humerous dogs having food shipped in).

I was pleasantly surprised when making the last couple of orders that there was no postage - why? I had no idea, but wasn't complaining! In my last order was a trial pouch of the wet food which the dogs wolfed down so I went onto your website today to compare the cost of this with their usual kibble. Whilst on the website I then found the article "Hounds for Heroes" (which we had never heard of) and the free postage was explained.

I just wanted to thank you, both for helping me to ensure my dogs are still eating wholesome food whilst living in what is the poorest country in the world with very minimal animal care and now for posting it to us at no charge. To say thank you we will make a donation to the Hounds for Heroes charity.

I’ve fed my Dog (Luke) on Burns for some 2 years now, after nearly given up on him. Nearly had him put to sleep, due to the problems we had with him. Tried all the other market brands which I found hopeless, when one day I went for a walk wondering what I could do for Luke, bumped into a lady who told me about Burns. My first reaction was “not another brand”. How wrong I was.

To this day, Luke never looked back. He’s in a wonderful condition and the talk of the neighbourhood. Before I went over to Burns he was thin, underweight generally in a very poor condition, always under the vet with special diets.
Now he’s a completely different dog and I am always being asked what I feed Luke on.

I feed him on your pork and potato, and he does also have 2-3 kelties a day, but to give him a change I started to part mix the dry food with your Egg, Brown Rice and Vegetables. He loves it. I must say when I open the pouch the quality of the food stands out.

You are all doing a great job for our dogs.

My German Shepherd dog developed a skin disorder when he was 6 years old. It was a mystery what was causing it. He is now 9 years old and about 9 months ago I changed his complete food to Burns Chicken and Brown rice on recommendation from a friend.
Since he has been on this food he has not had any skin problems and his coat has a beautiful sheen on it.

Having fed my 3 dogs on Burns Mini Bites I recently changed my Kooikerhondje on to Canine Alert. I have noticed a difference in his behaviour with him being a little calmer but more focused. His overall condition has also improved. At a show on Sunday his breeder noticed a marked improvement and said that he is looking good in the ring. I am exhibiting him at Crufts on Saturday and will attempt to visit the stand to give an update on his results.

My Kooikerhondje was awarded his first Best Of Breed under Mrs J Swinburn at Bournemouth Championship Show on Saturday 8th August. He is fed on 100 gr of Canine Alert and 1 teaspoon of Lamb and Vegetable Moist Meat with porridge oats, and bran. Whilst others around him were flagging in the heat Guy moved with energy and drive, down to the correct diet and exercise. Thank you Burns.

I just thought I would drop you a line to say what a difference changing our Belgians to your food has made. Indi our pup was covered in bald patches and red sores and is now a different dog, her coat has grown back, she no longer chews and scratches herself constantly and is thriving on your Pork and Potato. Our older Belgian who had no such problems is also enjoying your food, and I have noticed he has more energy and a beautiful glossy coat. Because of Indi's sensitivity she cannot have the usual biscuit treats etc, so they both now have your dried fish treats which they also both love.

I just wanted to say what a difference I have noticed in my Labradoodle pup, Pebbles, since changing to the Burns diet. He is so much happier, needs to eat far less than he did, his smell has all but gone and his coat is very soft. He seems much calmer and far less stressed than he was before I changed him—and all of this in just a few weeks. He is a lovely healthy happy boy who loves to get into mischief and so enjoys his life it is a joy to see!

Just wanted to let you know that my 8yr old Tibetan that has suffered from a terrible skin condition on his back for 6yrs has been totally cured by switching to Pork and Potato. He had been on Lamb/Rice for years but no improvement. Within 6 wks of going onto Pork and Potato his coat has completely grown back and his itchiness and sensitivity has disappeared. This is a great product - thanks very much ! - just wish I'd had it years ago!

Henry has been eating Burns exclusively since the behaviourist recommended the product to eradicate Henry's hyperactivity and weight gain. I had raised him on what I thought was a top quality dried food from another supplier! But Burns has completely changed Henry's life and now, at 11 years old, he's slim, fit and active. But your Fish and Maize has to be the best news ever - my wonderful dog had dreadful wind, even on Burns! He could clear the room instantly .... until we tried your Fish and maize. Instant cure! We went back to Chicken and Brown Rice, just to test, and couldn't wait for him to finish the bag before we went back to Maize. Thank you again, Burns, for a fantastic product!

I just wanted to say how good your dog foods are. I work with animals as a dog walker/pet carer and have recommended Burns to all my customers, my friends and family. My 2 year old Jack Russell, Kizer has always had Burns and he loves it & he's so fit & healthy & active. My mother's 9 year old cocker spaniel, Monty had been given many different brands of dog food over the years. My mother switched over to Burns dog foods 3 or 4 months ago and the difference in Monty's health has been brilliant. He's slimmed down, his eyes, ears & mouth have cleared up. He previously had problems with his eyes running and ear wax, not to mention his breath!! His coat is much smoother and shinier now too, everybody has mentioned how much better he looks all-round, and he just seems so much happier. Just a very quick note to say thanks for your advice, back in April I contacted you reference a change in food. Daisy is doing great on Burns food. She is as active as ever and the staining is clearing up well. The staining around her vulva is non existent now and cleared up in about 2 weeks and the tear staining is greatly reduced. On a visit to the vet he commented on how lean and healthy she is for Bulldog and to keep doing whatever it is that I'm doing. Thanks to you personally for your advice and to the company for a great product. I won't be changing her feed any time soon.

We just wanted to thank Burns for effectively giving our 30 month old male Golden Retriever, Zack, a new lease of life. Almost from birth, he has had a really sensitive stomach – he would eat anything but the main issue was keeping it in. Until late last year we had tried most foods (wet and dry) with varying success. I'm writing to you to tell of my success thanks to Burns. I have two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Chester and Bailey, Aged 2 and 3. They used to be very fussy eaters, that is until I introduced them to your food. As you know Kai started competing in May 2009, and has already progressed from grade 3 to grade 5, winning many classes on her way! I just want to say how well Eddy, our White German Shepherd dog looks thanks to Burn's dog food.

When we got him at seven weeks old, we fed him what the breeder recommended, raw minced meet and 'James Wellbeloved'. He was diagnosed with cystitis shortly after we got him. After he was diagnosed, we changed the food to Burn's Puppy food, which helped a lot. When he was old enough, we changed his food to Burn's brown rice and fish. His cystitis disappeared when he was about 2 years old. We only give him the recommended amount of that food and he's doing well as you can see in the picture. Eddy is now 5+1/2 years old.

I have a customer who’s dog, a large Goldie, has been on a prescription diet for senility and general old age for some time. As there was ‘nothing to lose’ and they thought they were losing her (in her words) she decided to switch to the Alert food as a try after I had told her all about it, provided literature and samples. It is now a month or more since we first wrote to you regarding our Max, We are very, very pleased to say, that he seems to be completely well, his motions are normal, he is not sick with bile, and he is now eating his food on his own, something in the past 7 years he has never,ever done before, and has always been a worry to us as he never ate when he was in kennels. I just wanted to tell you what a massive difference I have seen in my dog since changing her food to Burns dog food.

She has slowly deteriorated over the last three years, she is now 9 years old, her eyes were always full of gunge, she" smelled like a dog", she was always scratching and moulting, but, since feeding her on your dog food it has seemed like a miracle, her eyes are bright and clear, her coat is no longer greasy even though we haven't bathed her, her breath no longer smells, and she wants to play with her toys once more and is really up for a walk, whereas before it seemed like a chore for her, but most of all she no longer has diarrhoea, her stools are normal.

She has been fed Burns dog food for 4 weeks, but we noticed a difference after one week. I can’t thank you enough, but also I have to credit my local pet shop (Pets Takeaway, Stoke-on-Trent), for recommending your food to us, I only wish that she would have told us before now, but I realise that she is not there to force things on anyone, as she says, she doesn't know what people's personal budget is, but she is very knowledgeable. Thanks again, you have given my lovely girl a new lease of life.
