Local Company Grows From Strength to Strength

Burns Pet Nutrition has been very much part of the Irvine Valley for over 14 years but due to the growth of the business it has been forced to re-locate twice in the last 2 years to larger permises.

Burns is currently located in Glencairn Industrial Estate, Kilmarnock but still has one more move on the cards, they are now awaiting approval of planning permission for a new custom built warehouse and office block in Moorfiled Industrial Estate in Kilmarnock.

This friendly family run business markets and distributes a range of natural pet foods - Burns Real Food for Dogs and Cats. They also have a wide range of natural treats and Rabbit food and have recently developed their own wet food. This year they have taken on the sponsorship of SARDA, the mountain rescue team and their 25 dogs, Marlene will be representing Burns at SARDA's annual assesment in Glencoe in March.

Burns have always been very much part of the Ayrshire Community and help sponsor dog shows, gala days and various fund raising events.

Burns Real food for dogs was developed by John Burns BVMS MRCVS, who originated from Darvel, John says "Correct diet can be used to treat many illnesses or, more accuratel, correct diet can allow the body to make the necessary adjustments in order to heal itself. By experimenting on my own diet i was able to verify the principle that physical health and mental well being can be changed by diets and I decided to adapt and apply similar priniciples to the understanding and practise of Veterinary Medicine".
